Eid al-Fitr Festival

Asturlab’s Eid festival will be held on the first Saturday after Ramadan, which falls on the 7th of May this year.

The event will run from 4:00 pm till late.

What will our Eid festival be like? Picture lanterns and festive lights strung overhead and food vendors selling traditional ethnic Muslim treats and hot drinks and fresh juices.

There will be designated seating areas and plenty of space to mingle.

Small bands will add to the festive atmosphere by playing ethnic Muslim music and singing traditional songs. There will be face painting stalls, clowns and plenty of other entertainment for children. This family-friendly event is an excellent opportunity to share one of our favourite celebrations during the Muslim Calendar year with all of Christchurch.
